N.J. Commissioner of Education Visits OCHS

Students and staff at the Ocean City High School received a special visit from New Jersey Education Commissioner Dr. Lamont Repollet on Friday. Repollet was greeted at the entrance by senior and N.J. State Board of Education Student Representative Nora Faverzani, Schools Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor and High School Principal Dr. Matt Jamison, along with school board members, students, faculty members and even the school district’s mascot, Howie. “We are extremely honored and privileged to welcome Dr. Repollet today,” Taylor said. “I am grateful that the commissioner was able to experience both the pride our school community exudes, as well as the continued efforts put forth by our district.”
Education Commissioner Dr. Lamont Repollet visits with students. The commissioner was in the area attending “TECHSPO,” New Jersey’s Premiere Educational Technology Training and Exhibition Conference, sponsored by the New Jersey Association of School Administrators and being held in Atlantic City this past week. During his visit, Repollet met and spoke with many students throughout the morning. The visit included a tour of the Wellness Center and the new state-of-the-art TV/Media Center, where Repollet was able to try his hand at weather forecasting thanks to the OC Current/Billows student producers. Education Commissioner Dr. Lamont Repollet is joined by student representative, Nora Faverzani, School Board members Joe Clark, Jacqueline McAlister and Cecelia Gallelli-Keyes and Schools Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor.
