State and local laws require anyone owning, keeping or harboring a dog of licensing age (seven months or older) or a dog with a set of permanent teeth to get an annual license and official metal tag for each dog.
In Ocean City, dog licenses may be bought at the Municipal Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 861 Asbury Avenue.
To receive a dog license, the pet owner must first supply a rabies vaccination certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian.
The fees for licensing a dog are $7 for a dog that has been neutered or spayed or $10 for dogs that have not been neutered or spayed.
A late fee will occur after March 31 for an additional $4. Call (609) 525-9328 with any questions.
