The show features an array of artwork from artists along the East Coast.
The 57th edition of the Boardwalk Art Show, one of Ocean City’s oldest summer events, added a new twist this year.
Tucked under tents lining the Boardwalk between Eighth and 13th streets, the show features oil, watercolor and acrylic paintings, photography, handmade jewelry, prints and drawings on display and for sale.
A newer event, the Art of Surfing Festival, was added to showcase surf-related artwork, memorabilia, books and clothing. Live music and meet-the-artist sessions were also part of the Art of Surfing Festival celebration at the Music Pier.
Free and open to the public, the Boardwalk Art Show began Friday, continued Saturday and runs again Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, the Art of Surfing Festival wrapped up Saturday.
The Ocean City Arts Center, the show’s sponsor, says the beachfront location offers a unique venue and contributes to the show’s popularity with the public.
It offers Ocean City visitors an opportunity to view and purchase an array of artwork from leading East Coast artists at a reasonable cost. For further information, call the Ocean City Arts Center at 609-399-7628 or visit www.oceancityartscenter.org.
