A large crowd of strollers took advantage of the sunny and warmer weather yesterday in Ocean City

With two Nor’easters in a week in the books and the possible prospect of another coming tomorrow, Ocean City residents and visitors took advantage of relatively beautiful weather on Sunday.
Temperatures were still brisk in the 40s. But skies were brilliantly clear, the sun shone down on the beach and boardwalk and the winds had ramped down to what you might call a stiff breeze.
As a result, many people who had been hunkered down during the rain, street flooding and high winds of the past few days could not resist taking to the streets, beach and boardwalk.
Rich and Vickie Koshgerian were planning a barbecue on Sunday as the severe weather subsided.
“Today is the perfect cure for cabin fever,” said Bob Morton of Boyertown, PA, who drove into town this morning with wife Joannie. “The only thing bad about today was the Schuylkill Expressway,” he said, referring to the worst part of his two and a half hour drive. “For us there is no way around it. But once we got through that traffic nightmare it was smooth sailing.”
“And now we’re here and its beautiful. Totally worth it,” Joannie said.
The boardwalk, recently re-opened for the entire 2.5 length following completion of the latest reconstruction phase, was jamming. Families, groups of young adults and teenagers and individuals were all out enjoying the fresh air. Many of the boardwalk businesses were enjoying the sound of ringing cash registers as a result.
“We are actually busy today,” a salesperson said at Henry’s Jewelers. “I didn’t expect that.”
Sunny skies and calmer winds brought a crowd to the Boardwalk yesterday.
Large numbers of people were also observed shopping on Asbury avenue, while many others were beginning their spring cleanups on seasonal homes. Several real estate agents were seen tying balloons to “for sale” signs and preparing for open houses.
Rich and Vickie Koshgerian of Westtown Pa. drove to Ocean City Friday night to check on their summer home on Gardens Road.
“I’ve been trimming my yucca plants and cleaning the grill,” Rich said. “Im going to grill lamb chops tonight.
Forecast, be-darned. It was that kind of day Sunday in America’s Greatest Family Resort.
“Spring is on the way, you can feel it, and this is something that has been needed in my life,” said one woman, who declined to give her name. “With the first day of daylight savings time, it was such a novelty to sit on a bench and soak up some sun after five o’clock.
“I could get used to this,” she added.
