Godspell Jr. on Firday, June 8, 2018.
Godspell is one of the biggest Off-Broadway and Broadway successes of all time. Based on The Gospel According to Matthew, the musical uses major episodes in the Bible – including the baptism of Jesus, the Last Supper, his arrest and crucifixion – to explore important ideas like compassion, love, forgiveness and sacrifice for the greater good.
The Eighth Street players is the youth theatre company of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church. All of their shows are produced, directed, and performed by youth. The show is directed by James Craver, a 14 year old Ocean City student and the founder of St. Peter’s newly formed Eighth Street Players. The show’s Musical Director is John Gregory Bate, St. Peter’s Choir Director at St. Peter's and Director of The Masterworks Choir and Orchestra.
