National Weather Service map shows projected rainfall totals for New Jersey.
Dear Friends,
I want to remind you all that we’ll be under a Coastal Flood Watch from Thursday evening through all of Friday.
The National Weather Service forecast calls for minor tidal flooding, but it also calls for 2 to 3 inches of rain. If downpours happen at the same time as high tide, it could make flooding worse. High tide at the Ninth Street Bridge is at 6:40 a.m. Friday and streets could begin to see flooding in the hours before that time. I want to encourage you all to make sure your vehicles are in a safe place before you go to bed tonight.
Most importantly, do not try to drive on flooded streets. The wakes generated by vehicles plowing through floodwaters damage nearby properties. You also put your own safety and your vehicle at risk.

A separate Wind Advisory warns of wind gusts as high as 50 mph. Please secure construction sites and loose objects on your property and be aware that driving conditions could be hazardous.
As always, check on your friends and neighbors to make sure they are aware and prepared for the approaching storm. For Police & Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-399-9111.

Warm regards,
Mayor Jay A. Gillian
