Ridall, Elizabeth Ann (nee Franklin), - 85, of Ocean City, NJ, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at The Shores at Wesley Manor in Ocean City, NJ. Born in Shavertown, PA, Elizabeth spent most of her adult life raising her family in Devon, PA before she relocated to Seaville, NJ and finally Ocean City, NJ. Affectionately known to all as "Bette" or "Betts," Elizabeth was married to Richard Kenneth Ridall on June 12, 1951, her childhood sweetheart. Dick and Bette were blessed to be married for over 55 years before his passing in 2007. Mrs. Ridall grew up in Forty Fort, PA and was educated at Wyoming Seminary and Bloomsburg University. Bette was a member of The Paoli Presbyterian Church, the Paoli Hospital Auxiliary, and worked at the Devon Horse Show supporting Bryn Mawr Hospital. In her later years, she worked for Vanguard Investments in Devon, PA. Bette's most important role in life was that of a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, sister and friend. Surviving are two daughters: Rebecca Persons, married to Oren Hutchinson Persons III (Hutch), Holly Cassidy, married to Mark Cassidy; and two sons: Richard Todd Ridall (Todd) married to Marie Ridall, and Mark Franklin Ridall married to Timory Ridall. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Her Funeral Service will be offered Wednesday at 12 o'clock noon from St. Peter's United Methodist Church, Eighth Street at Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 11 o'clock until the time of service. Burial is private. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made the Fellowship Fund, c/o the Shores at Wesley Manor, 2201 Bay Avenue, Ocean City, NJ 08226.
