Many streets in Ocean City already are covered with water from the coastal storm we're experiencing, and high tide on the bay side does not occur until 10:14 a.m.
For your safety and for the protection of your vehicles and neighborhood properties, I urge you never to drive through flood waters. Please stay off the roads unless it's absolutely necessary to travel this morning. Avoid West and Bay avenues. If you must travel, the avenues near the beach (including Wesley and Central) offer the best north-south routes on the island.
A National Weather Service Coastal Flood Warning continues until 3 p.m. today. For Police & Fire Department emergencies, call 911. For non-emergencies, call 609-399-9111.
