STORM UPDATES
The Cape May County Office of Emergency Management is preparing for the upcoming storm expected to move into the area
tonight and
Tuesday. OEM Director, Martin Pagliughi reported the following:
- We are anticipating high winds and flooding in Cape May County.
- We are opening a limited activation of our EOC will be opened tomorrow at 6:00am. Atlantic City Electric personnel will be stationed with us during the storm.
- County high wheel vehicles are positioned and ready to be deployed if requested by the municipalities.
- Municipalities will do their reverse 911 calls regarding the flooding tonight and in the am.
- Municipal and county shelters are on stand-by in the event of prolonged power failures.
- We will be in direct contact with the State Emergency Operations Center, National Weather Office, Mt Holly and the NJSP-ROIC during the storm.
- Emergency weather alerts and up-dates will be posted on OEM web site as they come in.
- County Engineer, Dale Foster, reported that Public Works is prepared for the upcoming weather event.
- All 28 County bridges have been salted in preparation for the storm.
- 13 salt trucks are ready and filled with salt. An additional 4 are available for salting and plowing if necessary.
CLOSINGS AND DELAYS
On
Tuesday March 14th, Fare Free Transportation will not be providing service on the barrier islands from the Wildwoods to Ocean City to include the senior centers in North Wildwood and Ocean City and the Blind Center in Avalon. We will also be canceling service to Atlantic County, Camden and Philadelphia due to the impending storm. All other local service will proceed as usual.
The North Wildwood Senior Center and the Ocean City Senior Center will be closed
tomorrow,
Tuesday March 14th.
All county government offices will be open during regular hours. Any changes will be reported.
