This year's Atlantic City Lifeguard Classic featured patrols from as far as Harvey Cedars all the way down to Cape May Point. 16 patrols in all competed at Chelsea Avenue in 4 races: doubles row, half mile swim, singles row, and doubles rescue. The doubles rescue, a unique event, allows patrols to showcase athletes and demonstrate their ability to act in a real life scenario. The race consists of a 1000 ft row to the singles flag and at the turn around, the pair must unhook a weighted dummy and return it to the shore. Ocean City Beach Patrol took first in this event in a time of 4:48 with Bryan and Shanin Theiss. In addition, Quinn Cassidy took 3rd in the swim to help OCBP earn a 4th place team finish.
