A rough and choppy sea brought tough but exciting races at the 20th Annual Longport women's race. LPBP hosted 12 other teams, pitting each patrols best athletes for the first women's race of the 2017 lifeguard season.

OCBP brought home the team win, seconded by Margate city and Avalon rounding out the top 3. OC was lead by Lexi Santer who took first in the Paddleboard and third in the swim. Maggie Wallace finished in first in the swim, and Steph Hauk contributed a pair of third places finishes in the single row and double row with her partner Erin Curry. In the final event of the evening OCBP’s surf dash team took a second place to Sea Isle.
Ocean City’s 31 points bested their nearest competitor, Margate City, by 13. With a strong start to the season the women’s team remains hungry for more wins as the competition heats up.
