Open House at the Ocean City Fishing Clubhouse and Pier set for Thursday, July 20
The Ocean City Fishing Club (OCFC) is inviting you to its first Open House of the summer season on Thursday, July 20, from 6 to 8 pm at the clubhouse on the Boardwalk near 14
th Street.
A popular part of the city’s Family Night on the Boardwalk, this event features a tour of the clubhouse, surf casting demonstrations at the end of the club’s 635-foot pier, and an opportunity to meet club members.
It’s free to the general public, but visitors are encouraged to bring non-perishable food or make cash donations for the Ocean City Community Food Cupboard.
Open House on the pier has been an annual attraction ever since the historic fishing club celebrated the 100
th anniversary of its founding in 2013.
The second and final Open House of the season will be held Thursday, August 3, from 6 to 8 pm.
In cooperation with the Ocean City Department of Recreation, OCFC will also run the 42
nd annual Boys and Girls Surf Fishing Tournament along the City’s north end beach on Saturday, August 22. This free event for youngsters 8-16 will be held from 10 am to noon, with registration 9-10 am.
The Ocean City Fishing Club is the oldest, continually operating fishing club in America.
