News from the Ocean City Fishing Club
This summer’s second--and last--Open House at the Ocean City Fishing Club (OCFC) will be held on Thursday, August 3, from 6 to 8 pm at the clubhouse on the Boardwalk near 14
th Street.
Visitors will have an opportunity to stroll to the end of the club’s 635-foot pier, watch surfcasting demonstrations, and tour the clubhouse.
The event is part of the city’s Family Night on the Boardwalk. There is no charge, but club members appreciate donations of non-perishable food or cash for the Ocean City Community Food Cupboard.
The first Open House on July 20 drew 765 people, and the club collected $194 and 66 pounds of food for the needy.
A 104-year-old Ocean City institution, OCFC is the oldest, continually operating fishing club in America.
