Ocean City has held a 9/11 memorial ceremony since 2002, and it always draws a big crowd. This year's event will be held at 7 p.m. Friday (Sept. 11) in front of the Ocean City Fire Department headquarters.
Ocean City will remember the September 11 victims and their families during the annual “A Day to Remember” ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 6 p.m. The outdoor ceremony will take place in front of the Ocean City Fire Department station at 550 Asbury Avenue. The city has held a commemoration ceremony each year since 2002. The event is a reminder of those lost and a tribute to the spirit and sacrifice from the events of Sept. 11. The ceremony will include the Presentation of Colors, flag salute with representatives from the American Legion and VFW, music, prayer, and remarks from Mayor Jay A. Gillian. Keynote speakers will be Joyce, Chelsea, and Devon Rodak, who lost a husband and father, John Rodak, on that day. All are invited to attend
