Riding School Bus
Ocean City Healthy Living Advisory Council (OCHLAC) is once again hosting “The Riding School Bus” with the children of the Ocean City Intermediate School (OCIS).
The Riding School Bus program encourages the students of the OCIS to ride their bicycles to school in an effort to promote physical fitness and exercise on a daily basis. In conjunction with the Community Policing Division of the Ocean City Police Department, our program focuses on bicycle safety practices, proper rules for riding on our streets and introduces students to the safest route to school from their homes. We begin the week on Friday, May 20 at 11:30 am with an assembly for 4
th & 5
th graders demonstrating bike safety.
During the week of, May 23-27, 2016, we will escort these students to school in a group that includes parents, teachers and the OC Police Department. We will start from both ends of the island, picking-up students along the route to join the “bus” on their way to school.
