As we are nearing the end of a very long stretch of damp & dismal weather, we will finish out the work week with soaking rains and more tidal flooding. A low pressure system just offshore is throwing plenty of rain our way this morning and will continue to pivot onshore today. Persistent NE winds have gradually begun to pile up water along the coast. Astronomical high tides and heavy rain this morning is adding to the tidal flooding.
The steady rain has tapered to occasional showers and drizzle, however, we are not done with the tidal flooding. Moderate tidal flooding is expected again this evening. Tides will run at least up to 7.5 feet above normal. Please park your cars accordingly again tonight. As the low pressure system rotates inland, more showers will come back in this evening.
Forecast model shows rain tapering off this afternoon but returning again this evening.
Improving weather as we move through the weekend. The low pressure system will hang around on Saturday, so more which will keep more clouds and a few showers but temperatures inch up a bit into themed to upper 50s. For Mother's Day, a cold front will swing through kicking out the stubborn low pressure system. As a result, early clouds with a shower then sunshine returns with temperatures rising into the 60s!
Saturday: Clouds, few showers, not as chilly. Mid 50s
Sunday: Early clouds, shower then sunshine. Highs low 60s.
