The Ocean City Yacht Club and the New Jersey Chapter of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) are sponsoring the 2016 Atlantic City Race Week Leukemia Cup Regatta at The Golden Nugget Atlantic City July 22-24, 2016. World class sailor Gary Jobson, leukemia survivor, and the national chairman of the Leukemia Cup Regatta will be the guest of honor at this annual event.
Sailors will raise their sails and thousands of dollars in the race against blood cancer. Non-racing sailors, power boaters, and anyone else can join the fun! In addition to sailing, “Cruising for Cures” is a component of the regatta where power boaters can come and dock their boats at the beautiful Farley Marina or guests can arrive via land at the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City, watch the races, and enjoy great food and company.
Join us Friday, July 22nd for a cocktail party and live music. Tickets are $20. Saturday, July 23rd will be a day of racing followed by a festive barbecue banquet that will include live music, a raffle and an auction. Tickets are $45. Come to sail, cruise, and/or just to enjoy the spirited events with live entertainment both Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets for these events can be purchased at event website.
This regatta weekend is held to help excel the research not just for blood cancer cures but to help develop more breakthrough therapies for all types of cancer. LLS also raises funds to provide better treatments and services to blood cancer patients and their families. Despite amazing progress, more funding is needed to advance research and ensure access to treatments to help save more lives.
