(February 15, 2016)- We all know that the students of Ocean City High School are talented, but now its time for them to prove it!! This Thursday, February 18th, the OCHS Key Club is presenting this talented bunch in their annual OC’s Got Talent performance fundraiser from 7-10 pm in the High School Auditorium. Money raised from the students’ efforts will be donated to The Children’s Miracle Network of Philadelphia and Senior Scholarships for Key Club members. Back by popular demand, the students will present a host of multi-disciplined performances from vocal & dance solos and duos, to live bands and instrumental offerings. New this year, the entries take the entertainment to a whole new level with a 12 person Acapella group, a Yo-Yo skit, a teacher/student dance battle, and much much more.  “Last year, due to the support of the students and community, we raised $5,200”, said Ashley Schmid, OCHS Key Club coordinator. “We were thrilled to present $2,000 to CHOP, $500 to Sara Lucey an OCHS Student recovering from Chemo at CHOP, and $2,500 for Senior Scholarships.” Our special judges include Dan Weaver, a popular science teacher at OCHS, Lena O’Malley, Coordinator of The Children’s Miracle Network and Retail Cause Marketing at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and Tom D'Intino, the liaison officer to the OC Key Club for the sponsoring Northfield-Linwood Kiwanis Club. Ironically Tom performed in the 1966 OCHS Talent show as keyboard player with his group The Sidewinders. “We are inviting the community, alumni, and fans of talent, to come out and support this event Thursday night,” continued Schmid. Tickets are $10 at the door. The club plans on presenting the Children’s Hospital an oversized check donation of the proceeds right before the winners are announced.
