Gingerbread house night is an annual church tradition at St Peter’s Church. It was started many years ago by Jennifer Bowman.
Last Sunday night, two pastry chefs, Jennifer Bowman and Meghann Generosi, put the houses together and the 3rd-5th grade iSPY (intermediate St Peter's Youth) students joined them in making some houses to give to friends of the church who are shut-in and unable to make it to church.
The children worked hard, learned about helping others, and brought home a taste treat.
St Peter’s provided the candy, icing and houses to families who attended the gingerbread house night along with a pizza dinner, at a nominal cost.
St Peter's UMC frequently offers opportunities for families to spend quality time together and grow in faith.
Their next family event will be their “
Happy Birthday, Jesus! Party", which is
Saturday December 17th from 10-11:30am. The party is a free event with snacks, crafts, activities and a fun Bible lesson.
Families are asked to preregister for the event at
www.stpoc.org , to allow them to prepare.
Joey Ingram (11) of Somers Point and Liz Uileich of Ocean City raved about the fun they had decorating their houses.
