The public is invited to attend a meeting on a potential short-term plan to use using city-owned property at the far end of Shelter Road as a transfer point for dredged material. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center.
The meeting will include information and solicit feedback on new technology involved in the process, on Ocean City’s 2017 dredge program and on some of the challenges with alternative ideas. The 2017 dredge program is anticipated to include mid-island lagoons. The idea represents an opportunity to save Ocean City’s dredging program for 2017 and to test a method that could help keep waterways dredged and navigable long into the future.
