Thrill-seekers and family fun riders alike, take note: Playland’s Castaway Cove amusements will offer three hours of unlimited rides on Saturday, September 10 to benefit the Humane Society of Ocean City.
They call it Fun Day, and here’s how it works: For just $15, fans of the Double Shot, Riptide and Scream Machine can purchase a wristband and enjoy unlimited rides from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10. All proceeds benefit the good work of the Humane Society of Ocean City.
“We’re grateful to Playland’s Castaway Cove’s Scott Simpson and Brian Hartley who have been very generous and supportive of our efforts,” said Bill Hollingsworth, the Executive Director of the Humane Society. “This is a really nice event.”
For more information, call Hollingsworth at 609-398-9500, extension 4 or visit the Humane Society’s Facebook page:

“The proceeds from this event will help us with our efforts toward animals with special needs,” Hollingsworth said, explaining that special pet beds are needed for dogs that are lame or suffering from debilitating injuries and illness.
“Also, we take on a number of dogs from a shelter in North Carolina scheduled to be euthanized. This event gives them a second chance.”
The Humane Society, located at the Tennessee Avenue complex, offers a myriad of services for pet owners and animal lovers. It has a no-kill shelter, adoption center for rescue pets, veterinarian services and much more.

Fun Day helps keep everything going, Hollingsworth said.
“This is the eighth year we have had a Fun Day event with Playland’s Castaway Cove,” he said. “They have been great partners to work with.”
