The Department of Fire and Rescue Services announces that the Ocean City Beach Patrol will no longer guard the following beaches as of Monday August 22, 2016.

- Atlantic Blvd.
- 13th Street
- 16th Street (Surfing Beach)
- 17th Street
- 20th Street
- 46th Street
- 48th Street
- 60th Street
The following beaches will remain guarded at least throughout the week of Aug. 22 to Aug. 28. Beaches are guarded from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. weekends and holidays and from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on weekdays.

- St. Charles Place
- Delancey Place
- Park Place
- Brighton Place
- 5th Street
- 7th Street (Surfing Beach)
- 8th Street
- 9th Street
- 10th Street

- 15th Street
- 17th Street
- 20th Street
- 22nd Street
- 24th Street
- 26th Street
- 28th Street
- 30th Street
- 32nd Street
- 34th Street
- 36th Street
- 39th Street
- 42nd Street
- 44th Street
- 50th Street
- 53rd Street
- 55th Street
- 58th Street
Lifeguards will remain on duty at the Eighth Street, Ninth Street and 12th Street beaches until 8 p.m. This coverage will be seven days a week through Labor Day. These beaches are open due to the high volume of beach patrons as a way to provide extended coverage.
