Kookie Kids is a not-for-profit charitable mission founded and run by the students of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church. Each Monday, a group of 10 thirteen year olds spend the day baking homemade cookies in the St. Peter’s church kitchen (certified by the Board of Health). The students then package the cookies and sell them at the Ocean City Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm.
To date the Kookie Kids have raised over $3,000.00 in proceeds, all of which they are using to help families in need in our community. Kookie Kids donated their first $500.00 to the Randles Boys Foundation to help two local boys battling Cystic Fibrosis.
Another $100.00 was donated to a special needs child. And recently $500.00 was donated to the Martinez family as Teudy, a young father in our community, is recovering from a swimming accident in which he broke his neck. His wife Halley (daughter of Mike and Peaches Lukens) is due any day with their second child.
Please keep the Martinez family in your prayers!
You can be a part of our kids-helping-kids ministry by visiting us at the Ocean City Farmers Market on Wednesdays from 8:00am to 1:00pm and purchasing Kookie Kids cookies!
Thanks so much to all who are supporting this mission through your purchases and donations!
