Ocean City's first annual Comic Book and Memorabilia Convention will be held April 9 and 10 on the Ocean City Music Pier.
OC-Con will feature meet-the-artist sessions, discussion panels, costume contests, a superhero run, and, of course, the display and sale of comic books. Members of the 501
st Legion of “Star Wars” fame will be in attendance both days.
Event details are as follows:
- When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 9; and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 10
- Where: Ocean City Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, Ocean City, NJ
- Tickets: Purchase at the door -- $5 adults and $2 children (ages 12 and under). Two-day admission is $8 adults and $3 children.
- Saturday Schedule: 9 a.m. - 1 Mile Super Hero Run (wear your costumes); Noon - Super Hero Dash (save everyone from the villain); 1:30-2:30 - “Let’s Talk Comics Industry”; 3-4 p.m. – “Self Publishing and Promotion in the Digital Age; Participating Bob Petrecca of DC Comics, Marvel Comics and Upper Deck; an exclusive area appearance by Marvel/DC artist Ron Wilson; and many more creative writers and artists.
- Sunday Schedule: 11 a.m.-noon – “Cosplay: For the Love of Fandom”; 12:45-1:45 p.m. – “DC vs. Marvel Debate”; 2 p.m. - Cosplay Costume Contest (Registration taken Saturday and Sunday).
