Street Flooding Possible on Wednesday in Ocean City

  • News
As of Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service precipitation forecast places Ocean City in a small zone that will see just under an inch of rain on Wednesday, but heavier rainfall is nearby. A full moon on Tuesday night will cause the highest tides of the month at about the same time heavy rain arrives in Ocean City. The combination often results in flooded streets, and residents should be ready to move their vehicles from flood-prone areas. The high tide on Wednesday at 9:17 a.m. (on the bay side at the Ninth Street Bridge) is expected to be the biggest (at 5.2 feet mean low water). The National Weather Service forecast calls for rain, heavy at times, to fall throughout Wednesday. East winds gusting as fast as 31 mph will accompany the rain. The next high tide on Wednesday falls at 9:44 p.m.
