Ocean City firefighters responded to a call at about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday (Nov. 10) and arrived to find flames coming out the side of a home at the corner of West Atlantic Boulevard and Harbor Road in Ocean City.
The property was unoccupied for the season, and nobody was injured in fighting the fire. Firefighters had the blaze extinguished within a short time and remained on the scene after an hour to make sure it was under control.
The house sustained substantial damage to its interior and exterior, but it remained standing.
The cause remains under investigation, Ocean City Fire Chief Chris Breunig said at the scene.
Units from the Margate Fire Department and other neighboring towns provided mutual assistance.
