A fire caused extensive damage to 7th Street Surf Shop at 654 Boardwalk Saturday night.
Firefighters responded to the shop at about 8 p.m. Saturday. The fire was placed under control, but firefighters remained on the scene late Saturday night. The cause of the fire is under investigation, said Ocean City Deputy Fire Chief Charles Bowman.
No injuries were reported, Bowman said.
The shop was open when the fire started. Heavy flames and smoke could be seen billowing from the shop, which sells surfboards, clothing and surfing accessories.
The Boardwalk was closed between 6th and 7th streets after the fire Saturday night.
