Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue performs on July 20 at the Ocean City Music Pier.
The first six concerts of the traditional summer rock concert series on the Ocean City Music Pier have been announced.
The Monday night concerts will feature the sounds of the Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and Traffic in four of the concerts. But the early lineup also includes a New Orleans funk band and a country-rock singer-songwriter.
Tickets for the first round of shows go on sale 10 a.m. Thursday at
ticketmaster.com. The concerts are presented by
Bob Rose Entertainment.
- Lucinda Williams (June 22): The singer-songwriter has played rock, folk and country music. Mary Chapin Carpenter covered her "Passionate Kisses" and won a Grammy with it.
- Robby Kreiger (June 29): The guitarist revives the music of his legendary band, The Doors.
- Get The Led Out (July 6): Led Zeppelin tribute band
- The Machine (July 13): Pink Floyd tribute band
- Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue (July 20): New Orleans native Troy "Trombone Shorty" Andrews leads "a hard-edged funk band that employs hip-hop beats, rock and improvisation."
- Dave Mason's Traffic Jam (July 27): Dave Mason performs the music of his old band, Traffic.
