After weeks of sub-freezing temperatures and snow, the wind was light, the sun bright and the air temperature hit 59 degrees.
Even with a slight breeze coming off the 35-degree ocean, people flocked to the beach and boardwalk take advantage of the warm weather.
But the taste of spring will be brief. Rain is expected to arrive by late tomorrow afternoon, and the temperatures later in the week and through the weekend are predicted to top out in the mid-40s.
The surf forecast doesn't look much more promising — with light winds and small surf prevailing through the week.
