Building the Book of Ocean City Etiquette

  • News
It's also the law, but it's bad etiquette to blow back pedestrians in crosswalks. Summer started Sunday, and with so many people sharing the roads, beaches and boardwalk of the place they love, the inevitable clash of the masses began. Does that group really need to walk five abreast on the narrow end of the boardwalk? Is it really kosher to "reserve" a parking spot on a public street with an overturned trashcan? But is it really kosher to abandon a car smack dab in front of your neighbor's house, so you can keep the spots in front of your own house clear?
If the dude in Spandex is clipped in to pedals and checking his electronic speedometer, should he really be riding his bike on the boardwalk? The voices of frustration are beginning to rise. And it seems as if a little common sense and a little etiquette could go a long way. So we'd like to enlist our OCNJ Daily readers to help us build a Book of Ocean City Etiquette. Comment below to share your suggestion for additions to the collection. We'll create a living document that can be updated as the book grows. Feel free to submit photos or to post suggestions to social media (#OCNJEtiquette). See Facebook string. __________ Get the Daily: Sign up for free news updates from Ocean City
