Families Enjoy Annual Christmas Parade in Ocean City

  • Things To Do
A clear and mild December night on Friday helped draw good crowds to Asbury Avenue for the annual Christmas Parade. Families lined Asbury Avenue to watch the annual procession and catch a glimpse of Santa. The Downtown Merchants Association, the City of Ocean City and the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce sponsor the event. The parade featured the Ocean City High School Marching Band, the Pitman Hobo Band and the Ed Coles Dixieland Band. The Greater Ocean City Theatre Company, the Atlantic Shore Babe Ruth All-Star Team, the American Legion, Girl Scout Troop 41371, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Cape May County Sheriff’s Dept. Mounted Unit, OCHS Best Buddies International Club, Strathmere Fire Co., Junior. Red Raiders Football Team, 7
th Street Surf Shop, Vittorio’s Restaurant, the Walking Christmas Tree and others participated. But the star of the parade arrived last and was pulled by horse-and-carriage — Santa drew cheers as he rolled down the Avenue.
