O.C. Post Honors Air Force Vet as 9th Recipient of Free Vacation

Ocean City police and firefighters and the American Legion Riders scored U.S. Air Force Technical Sgt. Chris Donohue into Ocean City on Sunday for the start of a complimentary vacation to thank him and his family for his service. U.S. Air Force Technical Sgt. Chris Donohue, Krista, Otter and Reven Donohue will spend the week in Ocean City as the ninth recipient family in American Legion Post 524's "Rest and Relaxation Program." Ocean City American Legion Post 524 welcomed U.S. Air Force Technical Sgt. Chris Donohue, his wife, Krista, son Otter and daughter Reven on Sunday as the ninth military family to be honored by the post's "Rest & Relaxation Program." Local merchants contribute free gift certificates and a local family has donated a week’s stay in their condo to say “thank you for your service.” The Donohue family was escorted into town by the Ocean City Fire Department, Ocean City Police Department and the American Legion Riders, a motorcycle team comprised of military veterans. The award mentioned Donohue’s 16 years of military service in the U.S. Marine Corps, the N.J. Army National Guard and the United States Air Force. Donohue was deployed as a combat advisor and Joint Terminal Attack Controller for the US/Albanian mission. He was also an advisor for the Afghan National Army’s 1
st Mobile Strike Force and helped with transfers into Operation Resolute Support in 2014. He received the Bronze Medal for his services.
