  • Things To Do
Weekend crowds on the downtown beaches in Ocean City, NJ. The scheduled last day of the season for the Ocean City Beach Patrol is Sunday, Sept. 21. Ocean City Beach Patrol will be guarding the following eight beaches Monday (Sept. 15) through Sunday (Sept. 21):
  • St. Charles Place (between First and Second streets)
  • Brighton Place (between Fourth and Fifth streets)
  • Eighth Street
  • Ninth Street
  • 10th Street
  • 12th Street
  • 34th Street
  • 58th Street
These beaches are protected weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Ocean City Beach Patrol strongly urges bathers to swim only at guarded beaches. If you have any questions, please call 609-525-9200. The ocean water temperature was 71 degrees on Monday (Sept. 15). A tropical storm named Edouard became a hurricane on Sunday, and while it's track will be thousands of miles away over the open water of the Atlantic Ocean, there's a good chance it could send strong surf and currents to the East Coast by mid-week. For more information on guarded beaches, refer to radio 1620 AM or Ocean City TV information channel 97. __________ Sign up for OCNJ Daily’s free newsletter and breaking news alerts “Like” us on Facebook
