Hurricane Gonzalo, once a powerful Category 4 storm (130 mph winds), is weakening and moving on to graze Newfoundland as a Category 1 storm (74 mph winds) on Sunday. But the distant storm brought two days of great surf to Ocean City on Friday and Saturday.
On a sunny Saturday with ocean water temperatures still at 67 degrees and an offshore breeze creating good conditions, surfers enjoyed a couple days of head-high swell.
The surf should fade on Sunday, but check out a handful of images from Saturday at Third Street above.
