Exchange Club Honors OCHS Scientists Sending Experiment Into Space

Bill Culp, Exchange Club president, introduced Alison Miles, Kaitlyn Wriggins, Mercy Griffith, Lauren Bowersock, Kristina Redmond and Daniel Loggi to the membership, as well as their mentor, science teacher Daniel Weaver. The experiment will analyze the effect of microgravity on the attachment rate of E. coli bacteria to lettuce cells, practical information if people ever tried to cultivate food during long periods of space travel. During the meeting, each student spoke about individual roles in the design and development of the winning experiment.
