The HERO Campaign was organized 14 years ago by William and Muriel Elliott whose son John was tragically killed by a drunk driver. The campaign promotes the use of designated drivers.
Their program already has been adopted by several states, and the Elliott's goal is to have every state in the country adopt life-saving, designated driver legislation. The fundraising goal for Sunday's event is $100,000.
This year, the Hero Walk will provide photo booths and frames on site so that participants taking the "Hero pledge" can post their photos on the Foundation's Facebook page, Instagram and their own social media.
