Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian
The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s
weekly update to citizens posted on Friday, Nov. 7.
Dear Friends,
Now that Election Day has passed, I would like to commend everyone who put in the effort to run for a public office. Whether it is School Board, a Municipal, County or Federal office, our candidates commit a lot of time and effort into organizing and operating a campaign. These candidates all have one thing in common, a commitment to dedicate their talents for the betterment of our community and country, and we should be grateful to them, win or lose, for their involvement.
I look forward to continued work with Senator Booker and Congressman LoBiondo. The city has a positive relationship with both individuals and I feel we will be able to continue the progress we have made with their offices for the advancement of Ocean City.
I also look forward to partnering with the Board of Education. The relationship between any municipality and school system is very important and on a barrier island the value of that relationship is multiplied. I am optimistic that with our re-elected and newly elected members we will continue to make great strides.
I would like to remind everyone that the city’s annual Veteran’s Day ceremony will be Tuesday, November 11 at 11 a.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Please join us to honor all of those who have served our country in the armed forces.
I hope everyone has a great weekend.
Warm regards,
Jay A. Gillian
Mayor
