The Sunrise Cafe opened Thursday at a new location at the corner of 12th Street and Asbury Avenue.
The popular breakfast and lunch spot moves into a property (1200 Asbury Avenue) formerly occupied by F&M Restaurant (and for a very brief time by JD’s Clubhouse).
The cafe first opened in May at 949 Asbury Avenue with a menu featuring low-priced breakfast and lunch and fresh-baked goods.
The new location will feature more outdoor seating and an expanded takeout area for Sunrise specialties, including popovers, scones and deli sandwiches.
The renovated dining area features a bar-top made from tongue-and-groove wood paneling salvaged from the Christian Brothers retreat on the beachfront at 31st Street before it was demolished. It also features an interior wall covered by wood from a barn in North Carolina.
