A weekly feature from Ocean City Beach Patrol historian Fred Miller:
Ten years ago, Ocean City Beach Patrol’s Chief Tom Mullineaux hired these men and women as rookie lifeguards after they scored high in the swimming, rowing and running tests: from left, front row, Tim Adams, Chris Whelan, Paul Boardman, Cailin Eisele, John Farnoly, Ian Carey, Casey McAllister; middle row, John Lilley, James Graham, Jim Thornton, Pat Welsh, Graham Parker, Zack Eberson, Joe Duntee; back row, Joe Carroll, Evan Eachus, Dave Teufel, Tom Newnam, Garrett Hauck, Justin Perry, Andrew Carter. Tyler Fitzick and Brad Thornton missed the picture.
