Dr. Brian Sokalsky
A nonsurgical alternative to treating aches, pains and sports injuries is now available in Ocean City with the opening of Jersey Shore Sports Medicine on July 7.
The practice, headed by sports medicine physician Brian Sokalsky, D.O., will help patients recover from injuries related to sports and exercise.
Dr. Sokalsky is a board-certified family physician with special training in sports medicine. Sports medicine doctors are primary care doctors who treat injuries to the body’s joints, muscles or bones, and are trained to address issues associated with nutrition and sports psychology.
Dr. Sokalsky utilizes the full range of treatment options, as well as holistic approaches, to treat the whole patient. Services will include sports physicals, evaluation and treatment of aches, strains, sprains and tendonitis, concussion management, musculoskeletal
ultrasound, orthotics and braces, injections and medical acupuncture.
Personalized attention and continuing treatment with a dedicated physician will be a hallmark of Jersey Shore Sports Medicine. As part of the practice, Dr. Sokalsky also will provide game coverage to local high schools and club rugby teams.
Dr. Sokalsky formerly was affiliated with the Rothman Institute, where he saw patients in the Egg Harbor Twp. and Manahawkin offices. He holds a B.S. degree in Exercise Science from Rutgers University and a D.O. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He received his sports medicine training at Osteopathic Primary Care Sports Medicine, Physician Offices at Horizon, Brook Park, Ohio, now managed by The Cleveland Clinic. He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Medical Society of Sports Medicine.
