SATURDAY, JULY 19

Summer Craft Show: A major summer craft show that attracts thousands to Ocean City will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at a new location this year: the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle Grounds at Sixth Street and Asbury Avnenue. It will feature more than 200 juried crafters, artists, photographers and gourmet food specialists. The show has raised over $300,000 for local charities.  For information, call 800-822-4112. Tribute to the Philippines: Ocean City’s fifth annual tribute is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday. It will include free entertainment on the boardwalk and crafts plus many other exhibits in the loggia of the Ocean City Music Pier. On Sunday, an additional event, a free Longevity Health Exposition, will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Senior Center at the Ocean City Community Center (17th Street and Simpson Avenue). It will feature Philippine physicians, nurses and therapists, plus the serving of vegetarian foods. Entertainment begins on Saturday following opening ceremonies set for 10 a.m. in front of the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace. Philippine Consul General Mario de Leon and Mayor Jay Gillian will speak and cut a ribbon to officially open the weekend. The entertainment program will feature the Meglalatik-Mutya Dancers, Rowan University’s Tinikling Entertainers, Instrumentalists and Songs by the St. Augustine’s Filipino Choir. There will be Yo Yo demonstrations by Air Circus of Ocean City. The Yo Yo was invented by Filipinos and the words translate into “Return! Return!” The entertainment program will be repeated at 2 p.m. Saturday on the Boardwalk. “Cinderella” presented by the Greater Ocean City Theatre Co. MONDAY, JULY 21

"How I Became a Pirate" presented by the Greater Ocean City Theatre Co. Young Jeremy Jacob is digging in the sand at the North Beach and is recruited by pirates to help find the perfect digging spot for their treasure. This is an adventure story of finding one’s own heart, a path that can’t be found on any treasure map. 10:30 a.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier. Tickets $10. The Bacon Brothers will entertain at the Music Pier on Mon., July 21 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features stage and screen star, Kevin Bacon, and his talented brother, Michael, a musical composer for film and TV, both born and raised in Philadelphia. The Bacon Brothers’ latest CD is “New Year’s Day,” laden with gritty rock and a touch of Philly Soul. THURSDAY, JULY 24 Passion for Postcards Presentation: Longtime residents of Ocean City Paul and Ruth Anselm share their passion for postcards at the next Ocean City Historical Museum Thursday night series; July 24, 7:00 pm. The lecture is free and open to the public.

SATURDAY, JULY 26

  • Night in Venice: The annual decorated boat parade starts at 7:30 p.m. on the bayside of Ocean City between the Ocean City-Longport Bridge and Tennessee Avenue (near 22nd Street). To reserve, a NIV viewing spot at the Bayside Center, 525 Bay Ave., and enjoy entertainment prior to the Parade, call 609-525-9300. Tickets are $7 and $3 for children under 12. The theme this year is "Night at the Oscars" and boats also are encouraged to put their own spin on the Pharrell Williams "Happy" song.
