The lines of storms that swept across the East Coast for the first three days of the week are expected to move out to sea in time for a fireworks display at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (July 16) in Ocean City.
The event is part of two new fireworks nights this year (Father’s Day Weekend and July 16) sponsored by the Boardwalk Merchants Association. The show will be visible from any of the downtown blocks of the beach and boardwalk.
The fireworks will be launched from a barge off the Ocean City Music Pier between Eighth and Ninth Streets.
The sponsoring merchants scheduled the display to cap off an evening on the Ocean City Boardwalk.
The National Weather Service forecast suggests showers are still possible in the morning on Wednesday, but the weather should gradually clear through the afternoon and evening. The low temperature on Wednesday night will dip to 63 degrees, so boardwalk visitors may want to bring some warmer clothing.
The sun is expected to return for Thursday and Friday with daytime high temperatures in the low 80s.
