No Snow, Minor Flooding on Thursday in Ocean City

[gallery ids="301,302,303,304,305,306"] Ocean City weathered a nor'easter on Thursday with no snow accumulation and only the usual street flooding. The Ocean City School District opened its three schools on schedule, and traffic flowed normally on most major roads in Ocean City. Snow began to fall early on Wednesday night (Feb. 12), but the precipitation turned to rain around midnight. By dawn, there was no accumulation. Farther inland in southern New Jersey, as much as 9 inches of snow fell before the changeover to rain, and roads were still covered by a thick slush on Thursday morning. Heavy rain fell and northeast winds are gusted beyond 40 mph in Ocean City on Thursday. With a low of 30 degrees predicted for Thursday night, a new round of snow (1 to 2 inches are possible). The evening high tide saw similar flooding on low-lying streets. A National Weather Service coastal flood advisory remained in effect until midnight Thursday. A winter weather advisory is in effect until 6 a.m. Friday. Friday's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 40 degrees. _____ [widgets_on_pages id=3]
