The show winner, 'Red Reflection,' by Mary Ann Kline of Egg Harbor Township
Mary Ann Kline of Egg Harbor Township won the Ocean City Fine Arts League's “Le Petite" Show with an oil painting titled "Red Reflection."
The pubic is invited to a “Meet The Artist” reception and awards presentation 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12 at the Art on Asbury gallery at 608 Asbury Avenue. Light refreshments will be served. The event is free, and the show runs through the end of December.
Kline has been a plein air painter in South Jersey for many years. She has attended classes at the Barn Studio of Art, Philadelphia College of Art, Fleisher Art Memorial, Stockton College, Rutgers University, Rowan University and participated in many local and out of state workshops. She studied for a summer in the South of France and painted in Spain, Barcelona, and the Dominican Republic. She has exhibited at local venues, individually and as a member of the Cedarwater Painters, and the Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters.
Kline's primary interest is oil landscapes with secondary studies in watercolor, acrylic, pastel, print and jewelry making, pottery, figure drawing and fiber arts. Her artistic endeavors also include construction of found object sculpture and installations. She has won awards in the Atlantic County Education Association Art Show, Cygnus Art Center, Hammonton Art Center, Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts, Ocean City Fine Arts League, and the Ocean City Arts Center's Boardwalk Art Show.
