Margate Beach Patrol won the 75th annual South Jersey Lifeguard Championship on Friday night in Ocean City.
Ocean City Beach Patrol had earned the privilege of hosting the event by winning last year's South Jersey title in Margate.
Margate won the singles row and took a third in the doubles to win the team title with eight points in the three-event competition.
Atlantic City finished second (7 points), followed by Longport (6), Ocean City (5) and Brigantine (5).
Ocean City started strong with its doubles crew of Dylan Kosten and Matt Garbutt losing a close race to the finish to Atlantic City's Jim Smith and Vince Granese.
Upper Township's Kevin Gill wins the swim with room to spare.
Upper Township's Kevin Gill won the swim decisively, and Sean McCaffrey gave OCBP a point with a fifth-place finish.
Ocean City and Brigantine were tied for the lead going into the final event, but both patrols finished out of the money in the singles.
Margate's Ashton Funk won the singles to give his patrol the victory.
