Ocean City's big Spring Block Party is scheduled for next Saturday (May 3), but this weekend offers plenty of opportunities to get outside and have some fun. Here are some highlights of weekend events:
SATURDAY, APRIL 26
Clean Ocean Action Beach Sweep: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Check in at the Ocean City Music Pier (Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace) for cleanup supplies. All are invited to join in this statewide program to keep our beaches clean, safe and to protect our coastline. Call (609) 399-6111 ext, 9711.

Spring Swing Surf Contest: Seventh Street Beach, 9 a.m. start. No Wave Date 4/27/14. Divisions for all Male age groups 13 and Under to Masters and Over. Longboard Open, Women Open. Fee $10. Used Clothing Drive Fundraiser for Ocean City High School Surf Team: Drop off donations at 6th Street Fire House, 6th and West Ave., Door #4, noon to 5 p.m. both days. Accepting Men's, Women's, Children Clothing, Handbags, Shoes, Belts, Linens, Curtains, Tablecloths, Hard Toys, Stuffed Animals. No books, CDs or VHS Tapes. Drop off items in plastic garbage bags.
