The 29th annual Ocean City (NJ) Doo Dah Parade on April 12, 2014, enjoyed great spring weather.
The 29th annual Doo Dah Parade on Saturday (April 12) in Ocean City welcomed a surprise two surprise guests: sun and warmth.
Crowds lined downtown Asbury Avenue and the Ocean City Boardwalk to enjoy the parade and the sunny spring weather. Temperatures in the 60s and a light land breeze made for ideal conditions.
The parade — Ocean City's tribute to humor — typically marks the opening of an uninterrupted season of specials events that stretches through the new year.
The procession featured marching bands, floats, grand marshal Peter Funt and a brigade of more than 500 basset hounds.
The traditional finale at the end of the parade route at the Ocean City Music Pier includes — the Pie-asco, in which everybody is invited to smoosh their friends with shaving-cream pies.
