The Angelus Chorus will be featured in a Christmas Concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Ocean City Tabernacle.
The 70-voice Angelus Chorus, directed by Richard Stanislaw, returns to Ocean City Tabernacle at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, for a concert of traditional Christmas music and Scriptures. Tenor John Taylor, coming from his music ministries in Florida and Guatemala, is guest soloist. Tapestry Strings join the choir for this free concert.
The program celebrates the 50
th year of the Angelus Chorus with music on the theme of Angels including Mozart’s “Gloria,” Rutter’s “Angels’ Carol,” a rollicking arrangement of “Angels from the Realms of Glory,” a stately “Hark, the Herald Angels Sing,” Michael W. Smith’s popular “Christmastime,” and Harry Bollback’s “Ring the Bells.” The string quartet joins for “Masters in this Hall” and John Taylor sings with the chorus on “Go Tell It on the Mountain.”
In addition to other solos, “O Holy Night,” Taylor’s signature selection, brings together all the ensembles. The Tabernacle’s pianist Carolyn Lothian and organist Jeff Seals augment Ruth Fritsch, Angelus Chorus’s accompanist and Gretchen Sorensen, flute. Call 609-399-1915 for more information.
