The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 6 a.m. to noon on Monday.
A full-moon tide, southeast winds gusting up to 45 mph and heavy rain are expected to contribute to flooding conditions.
Water levels are expected to peak in the hours around high tide on the bay side of Ocean City at 7:50 a.m. Monday. Forecasters predict a water level of 5.4 feet on the mean low water (MLW) scale, just above the threshold for “minor” tidal flooding. Residents should be prepared to move vehicles before going to bed on Sunday night. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never attempt to drive through flood waters, and do not drive around barricades.
The National Weather Service also issued a Wind Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday. Please secure loose items on your property and be aware that driving conditions may be hazardous.
