For the May 12 municipal election, voters will not be going to the polls.

Voters go to the polls from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday to elect the Senate and Assembly candidates in the First Legislative District and two Cape May County freeholders.

Democratic Sen. Bob Andrzejczak is facing a challenge from Republican Senate candidate Michael Testa, a Vineland attorney. Democratic Assemblymen R. Bruce Land and Matthew W. Milam are running against Republican Assembly candidates Antwan McClellan, an Ocean City councilman, and Erik Simonsen, the mayor of Lower Township.

Cape May County Republican Freeholders Gerald M. Thornton and E. Marie Hayes are being challenged by Democrats Joyce P. Gould, a commissioner in Wildwood Crest, and Elizabeth F. Casey, an Ocean City attorney.

Ocean City voters will also elect three members to the Board of Education. Board members J. Tiffany Prettyman, Gregory Whelan and Dale F. Braun Jr. are seeking re-election. Conor Fleming, Patrick Kane and Melissa Flink are also running for the Board of Election.

Because the front entrance to United Methodist Communities The Shores (the former Wesley Manor) is under construction, voters in Ward 3, District 1, must use the back entrance to the polling place there.

The back entrance is accessible via the parking lot driveway off 23rd Street. There will be signs to direct voters to the polling place.
